Hill Bros & Pro-Fleet Refugee Story

You might have caught us on the news again Friday, February 17, 2023.  We have a student currently attending Pro-Fleet with a very exciting background story. Mujtaba Karimi was an assistant to the president of Afghanistan was helping our military when the Taliban retook control in August of 2021. His life was in great danger, but he was lucky enough to escape on the last US Military evacuation plane leaving the country. He spent some time in a refugee camp in Texas and then was moved to Omaha. He learned to speak English and is now working on getting his CDL at Pro-Fleet. He hopes to help other refugees find new productive lives here in American as well. You can watch  different takes on this story from both local channels Fox42 News and Channel 3 NewsNow station.

Wreaths Across America 2022

It’s that time of year again and Raymond “Joe” Brooks (Animal) is doing what he says he has in his blood – driving truck and as he said last year, “That trailer right there – doing this is one of the best things that I have been doing.” This was is 5th year delivering for Wreaths Across America (WAA). Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, volunteers coordinate wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 3,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad. This year Animal delivered to Lawrence, Kansas. On December 17, 2022 at 11:00 am, the Lawrence Composite Squadron KS-061 Civil Air Patrol (KS0018P) will be helping Oak Hill Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. The Hill Bros. family is deeply honored to assist WAA in this wonderful holiday tradition.
